I am excited to review another great product given to me recently by Ellen, the creator of the Etsy shop Simply Relieved. "My Paper Lifesaver" is a neat little binder for organizing a household's paper clutter- a HUGE problem in our house! I dread opening the mailbox and sorting through the flyers, bills, ads, fake ads that look like bills...I hate it all! The only time of year I like checking the mail is now, when I get lots of cute Christmas cards with babies on them!
We have been using the Paper Lifesaver for about six weeks now...I wanted to post this review earlier, but we had a couple unexpected things pop up in our family and so this blog kept getting pushed to the back burner...anyways, I guess getting to use it for six weeks instead of three gives me a better experience for writing a review.
As you can see from the pictures, this binder is set up to help you organize your clutter. It comes pre-labeled and with some handy hints on home organization. The creator has five young kids, so she knows that organization is the key to survival.
We found using the binder to be super helpful. We were thinking of getting the 31 wall organizer, or some other type of wall-mounted organizer. I have to say though, I like the binder much better. Its out of sight, and easy to sit down with it on the couch and pay bills at night, rather than having to sort through something hanging on the wall. The pockets make sense for the things I need to organize at my house....smaller pockets for some things, a larger velcro pouch for receipts and oddly shaped items. The back page of business card slots is helpful for keeping things like extra insurance cards etc.
So some of you might be thinking..."OK, couldnt I go make a binder?" Ya, sure, you could technically make everything on Etsy. That's the point. Its a handmade website. And the fact is- you know you won't go make one, if you are anything like me! You will procrastinate, and use a beat up folder, or have a falling over stack you are "meaning" to organize. This comes ready to go and all cutely designed. I also think this would be a great gift for someone moving out for their first time, like a college student or a young adult in their first apartment. It gives a greats guide of what to keep, toss, etc. Our routine is to sit with the binder and the mail. Sort and toss all at once, and put the binder away til you have time to sit down with it. Its terrific.
You can purchase the binders through the Etsy link here OR you can win one by commenting on this status. Just comment anything you want, but if you have a funny story about organization failures, or something that works for your household, I'd love to hear it!
So go ahead and buy one! Support a fellow working-at-home mom. Thanks!!
Entries accepted until midnight on December 19th.

I think a full time working single woman could benefit from this, too, though! I used to be so organized. Then I moved back in July, went on a foreign missions trip, started a new school year and a new job search and here we are in December and I still haven't finished unpacking or re-organizing. Maybe this would help!
ReplyDeleteOh absolutely! I think its beneficial for any household, really.
DeleteWhat a great idea.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea! I'd love one. Do you have an actual "work at home" position? If so you should help me find one too ;o) These girls need me here.
ReplyDeleteAside from this blog, my work is out of the house...not sure why I typed "fellow WAHM" haha. I help my family run their Subway, and I evaluate kids for Early Intervention. I work about 15-20 hours a month total....
DeleteI want this like no other! I am so envious of this! My bills are any place you can possibly imagine including but not limited to A drawer in my bathroom vanity! I am so crazy not getting my stuff in order and I am trying my best to start 2013 with ORGAINIZATION! I am going at it slowly because if I do it fast it will be CRAZY so I am doing it slowly and doing it right! LOVE THIS IDEA! Meg, you get to try out some pretty neat products! :)
ReplyDeleteYes this would be lovely to have... I struggle with organization and a place for everything. This would be perfect!!
ReplyDeleteYou mean this would help me not stack junk on my front hall table until it is sliding off....when I then 'clean up' by opening the drawer in the table and shoving it all in....only to start the pile again the next day.....
ReplyDeleteI have to come up with something better - the drawer is almost full!!
I'm not sure if this binder can help me... I may be too far gone. Last week I made my mother in law come up for my children's preschool Christmas pageant. THE PAGEANT IS THIS WEEK!! Sorry MIL! Hahah, oh my.
ReplyDeleteMeg-I am thrilled that you found My Paper Lifesaver to be a great product and a great help to you! Thank you for your review of my product, and I have enjoyed reading your blog. I also wanted to mention that I found the business card slots to be so helpful to hold all of those coupon cards from Old Navy, Bath and Body, Kohl's, etc...because I can easily see them. Otherwise, I tend to forget about them! I'm excited for someone to receive the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to cruise over to her site - I am constantly sorting papers into piles and moving the piles and re-sorting and ARGH!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to find a way to get organized!! This would be great!!
