I am excited to review and give away another product for Big Idea Entertainment! I get offers from a decent amount of products to review, and don't always say yes. But I love the Christian family values that Big Idea stands for. The DVD I gave away last fall had great adoption themes, and I know Eli already enjoys the VeggieTales songs interludes in the video. He bops along and smiles, and I can't wait for him to be able to understand the Christian messages in their products, too.
This devotional is the first VeggieTales book I have seen. I know there are quite a few, I just have never taken the time to look. This little book is TERRIFIC.
I think it is just absolutely adorable. It is a year's worth of one-page devotional lessons for girls. As I was reading through a selection of them, I was tearing up picturing doing nightly devotions with Eli and his siblings. I think this little book would be a great starter for girls, a fun way to introduce the concept of a daily devotional time. Each page has a verse (or occasionally a quote from people like Charles Swindoll), an explanation of the verse with some questions, a "Tip for the Day," and ends with a prayer.
I think the age range for this book would be preschool, to start. Three- and four-year olds would be able to understand some of the concepts during a readaloud with a parent. Moving into early elementary school, the reading level is perfect in this book for early readers to go through it on their own.
This book retails for $9.99 on Amazon.

If comments aren't working, you can email godwillfillthisnest@gmail.com to enter. If you'd like, your comment can include what your devotional routine is for yourself or your kiddoes. It might give the rest of us some ideas! It doesn't matter if your girl is just a few months old, or if you are a parent of boys who wants to pass this along to a friend. Anyone can enter...
Entries will be accepted until midnight on January 13th, and I will draw a winner using randomnumber.org.
Enjoy!

Already trying to make devos a part of Addy's bedtime routine. I love the time with her even though she's too young to understand!
ReplyDeleteI love doing devotionals for my girls.Abby is especially learning from them.
ReplyDeleteWe're not quite to the "personal devotion" stage yet with baby, but I'd be willing try a good resource when that time comes!
ReplyDeleteRight now our "devotion" routine with baby girl is just a blessing/prayer but would love to use this resource to expand that in the next year or two!
